A scenography that guides visitors:

The site museum, as well as welcoming visitors, is a fundamental point of access for all, to our Ambrussum heritage. It has been the subject of two phases of development:

Phase 1: Reception building construction

An architect and study team were commissioned by the Communauté de Communes in 2001 to initiate proposals for the protection, enhancement and cultural development of the Ambrussum site. This work, carried out in three stages, led to a project analysis, agreed aims for global development and a plan of action.

Phase 2: Museography and Scenography

- A reception area where visitors can find documentation relating to the site and a shop.

- A space for temporary exhibitions.

-  A space for permanent exhibitions, presented in four sections:

• The ideal setting: Ambrussum, on the Via Domitia road
• Warrior's rest: the staging post
• The Ambroix bridge and the Vidourle river
• The Oppidum

- An audio-visual room showing the archaeological excavation at the Ambrussum site.

The overall purpose is to prepare visitors for the archaeological site visit.
