Visitor information

The entrance of the site is free and open to the public all year round 7 days a week.

Please note that our friends the animals are not allowed inside the museum, with the exception of guide dogs. However pets on a leash are welcome on the archaeological site.


Individually

Whether individually or as part of a group, you will be warmly welcomed by the Ambrussun archeological site guides who will show you around.

Several options are available:

 

  • The archeological site visit: access to the site is free; the guided visit has a small fee.
  • The Museum visit: entrance is free; the guided visit has a small fee.
  • The Museum+ site guided visit: at 3pm every Saturdays and Sundays / on pre- booking only for other day or time.

 

For children, a discovery booklet is available for a fun and educational visit.

 

A visit flyer is available at the Museum reception.


Group visits (min 10 people)

Pre-booking only in order to offer the best possible welcome.

 

As for individual visits, the group visits can either be free with the use of the self-explanatory flyer provided at the reception of the Museum or a guided visit by a professional guide for a fee.

 

  • The archeological site visit: access to the site is free; the guided visit has a small fee.
  • The Museum visit: entrance is free; the guided visit has a small fee.
  • The Museum +site guided visit: on booking only.

 

For groups planning to spend their day on the site (schools or private individuals), it is possible to provide tables and chairs. This request has to be made to the Ambrussun team 15 days prior the planned visit.


School group visits

The Museum's team makes it every effort to offer teachers and professors, theme visits adapted to pupils' level or to educational projects.

 

Guided visits:

* The Ambrussum archeological site
* Theme visits:

  • Ways of life on the Oppidum
  • The Gallic society and its gods
  • Trade in the staging post
  • How to build a Roman bridge....

 

*Museum guided visit, permanent collection

*Guided visit of the temporary exhibition

 

 

Treasure hunt:

The Ambrussum site proposes different treasure hunt according to school levels. In order to answer questions and find key words, children have to walk around the Ambrussum site in search of clues and information.

For groups planning to spend their day at the site (school or private individuals), it is possible to provide tables and chairs. This request has to be made to the Ambrussun team 15 days prior the planned visit.

Information signs, panels, stands are translated into English.

 

Flyers:

Self-explanatory flyers in French, English and German are available at the Museum reception.

Guided visits are available in French, English and Italian

Guided visits are available at 3pm every Saturdays and Sundays without booking (on pre-booking only for the other days or time according to our availability).
